Is Strike EDU School a public school?

No. Strike EDU is a private, virtual school in Oregon, serving families in the United States.

Why does Strike EDU School charge tuition?

Our school is not publicly funded, therefore, we must charge tuition to pay for expenses, such as teachers, curriculum, Chromebooks, etc.

What if I cannot afford tuition?

Please view our Tuition Choices. There, you will find our Family Plan for reduced tuition for families with three or more children, as well as an application for reduced tuition.

Do you have options for working parents? Do you have evening appointments?

Yes! We have Learning Coaches/teachers who work during late afternoons and evenings and some Saturday mornings.

What curriculum will be provided?

At Strike EDU School, it is all about choice. Your Learning Coach will work with you to choose or build the curriculum that best meets the needs of your child.

You may choose from the following:

  • Our robust, user friendly, accredited online learning curriculum through Florida Virtual School:

      • Easy to read

      • Easy to navigate

      • Easy to understand

      • Help at every page and stage

      • "How to" including detailed instructions and video content

      • Customizable by your Learning Coach, according to your student's individual plan

  • Curriculum you have purchased

  • A combination of the above

Your teacher/Learning Coach will work with you to develop a personalized plan for your child. This will include your choice of curriculum, or a plan to work together to develop curriculum.

What other supplies will be needed?

Basic school supplies will get you started, but feel free to wait until your learning plan is developed before you purchase anything.

Does Strike EDU School provide the technology needed for virtual learning?

Yes. If you need a device, we will purchase a Chromebook for you, which is included in your tuition cost. If you don't need a Chromebook, we will donate one on your behalf to Strike HOPE, a non-profit organization that supports families in need.

Where are the learning coach sessions held?

We have a several options in various parts of Clackamas and Multnomah counties. You will be scheduled to meet in the location that is most convenient for your family. If your family lives at a distance from us, you will have one on one meetings virtually with your Learning Coach.

What choices do I have concerning the topics my child will be learning?

You and your Learning Coach will customize a plan for your child that aligns with your family values.

Do we have to come to our appointments in person?

No. You have a choice as to whether you meet with your Learning Coach in person or via Google Meet, or a combination both. If your family lives at a distance from us, you will have one on one meetings virtually with your Learning Coach.

Are parents involved in the creation of the student's learning plan?

Yes! Absolutely!

Can we meet with the Learning Coach more than once per week?

Of course! Here are our Tuition Choices for the options.

Can I change to a different Tuition Choices during the school year?

Yes. Let your Learning Coach know your thoughts, then our staff will take a look at making a change for you.

Will I have access to keep a watch on how my child is performing in their subjects?

Yes. You will have parent/guardian access to our system to keep tabs on your child as well as guide your child in the learning process.

Is there a discount for multiple children in my family?

Yes. Here are our Tuition Choices, and a Family Plan for families with three or more children.

Do I need to pay for tuition all at once, or can I make monthly payments?

You may choose to pay up front, or make 10 monthly payments or 12. Here are our Tuition Choices for more information.

How do I know if my child can get a spot?

You may choose to make a deposit to secure your spot within the enrollment process.

We would love to serve everyone who is interested, however enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limited number of students accepted. A deposit of $100 will secure your spot in our enrollment queue.

Deposits are non-refundable in the event you decide to cancel, otherwise deposits are fully refundable if Strike EDU School determines that our programs do not meet or fulfill your child's educational needs.

Do you offer support for homeschooling?

Yes, we offer homeschooling support provided by our Learning Coaches. Please refer your state guidelines and follow their requirements.

Is strike edu school accredited?

Our online learning through FLVS is accredited. Our school is in the process of accreditation with Cognia while we serve our 9th grade class during the 21-22 school year. Once accreditation is complete, we will add 10th-12th grade to our offerings.

Does my student need to attend in person at this school?

No. Strike EDU School is a private, virtual school. Most of the learning will happen at home. Your Learning Coach will meet with you in person, online or both. This is your choice.
